Floral Trip - San Francisco

I thought that while I had some spare time this week I would update you on the floral field trip.
After a very busy weekend, the advanced floral class packed up and left for our field trip early Monday morning. We drove from Idaho to Reno Nevada. From there we drove over a very snow pass...in the sierras I believe....into sunny California. I could not believe it, but we had to chain up our van in order to drive through Donner Pass and into California. I guess it was trying to live up to its name again.

We stayed our first night in San Francisco where we went to the Deyoung museum and saw the bouquets to art exhibit. The following are a few pictures of us coming into the city.

I am not sure why, but I really liked this bridge. There has got to be a good reason why I took a bunch of pictures of it.

Here are some of the pictures at the museum. If you look closely at some of them, you can see the art that they are interpreting in the back ground.

This is interpreting the picture to your left.

Interpreting a sculpted dress.

This one was my favorite. The designs used the statue as inspiration. I believe the name for the statue is Penelope, as in the Greek myth Penelope.

This one was just fun! All of the bright colors made me so happy.

The museum on its own was a must see, but it was fantastic to see all of this art interpreted in the form of flowers. It was nice to see someone else do the same thing we had done the week previously.
