A thought

I just read something interesting and I thought I would share it with everyone.

I was looking up information on the culinary Olympics of 1988. It was the first year that they introduced deserts into the competition. For those of you who have ever watched a cooking competition you know how intimidating this is. Any way I came upon this one site that said the following:

"Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that ametures built the ark, professionals built the Titanic."

- From "Culinary Olympics 1976/84/88: With Pulled and Blown Sugar" By Adolph Volk

I was thinking about this and how they both were magnificent works....but one was built solely by man, and the other was Heavenly Father's design. Trusting in the Lord sounds like the way to go to me. It makes me feel that as long as I am working my hardest and trusting in the Lord, I can do anything. Its hard to remember this in our day to day life, but I am going to strive to. I think the best way is to recognize the small things that Heavenly Father gives us each and every day.....like:

Breath

Hope

Smiles

Sunshine that warms

Rain that nourishes

Cars that get us their faster

Love that heals

Grass that feels good on your bare feet.

Our thumbs and pinkie toes..they do more than we know.

Children

Animals

Quiet moments

The list could go on. I guess what I am trying to say is that if HE created everything that we have/are, then HE can teach us. We just need to start listening.

  1. Thanks Taylor. This was a good reminder to me to have more faith. I hope everything is going well. Your cake looks lovely by-the-way. Love you two.
